Shutterfly

Shutterfly is a photography products and image sharing technology company, headquartered in San Jose, California. The company is mainly known for custom photo printing services.

My role as part of the Creative Services team involve:

  • Working with cross-channel partners in Marketing through weekly sprints (cycle work) creating, refining, updating and maintaining assets across all digital channels within: web (desktop & mobile), app (iOS & android), social media, push, sms, emails (CRM), partnerships and digital advertisements.
  • Enhance and drive user experience, increase brand visibility, engagement and customer conversion.
  • UI Design / Production Design: currently assisting in systemizing modular reusable components for email and site handoff for developers
  • Working with Figma against the Brand Guideline, seasonal Campaign Toolkits, CMS Design Guideline and the ever-evolving Design System component Library involving tokens of reusable variables and components for web, mobile, app and emails.
  • Work with a collaborative team of Executive Leadership, VP's, Creative & Editorial Directors, Copywriters, UX/UI + Digital Designers, Developers / Tech Ops, Post-Production Photo Retouchers & Project Managers
  • Work with SPARK, a digital asset management system (DAM) and its metadata for image and photography sourcing needs and embedding live links for site / app and emails.

Below are modular / component-based assets handed off for delivery for developers in the back-end:

Campaign 1: Black Friday
  • Step 1: Dissect marketing brief / campaign needs
  • Step 2: Work with the Figma email template + wireframes
  • Step 3: Present internally to the Creative Team for feedback / refinement (creative directors, editorial directors, copywriters, photography retouch needs, timelines, etc) & updates
  • Step 4: Post for cross-functional partners presentation for initial feedback + design changes + product photography retouch needs for any additional digital assets to create.
  • Step 5: Round Two designs presented for Executive Leadership review
  • Step 6: Final round design changes + approval
  • Step 7: Hand off & delivery for tech / developers

Transactional Emails:

Overview & My Role:
  • To refresh Shutterfly's transactional emails to align with the updated brand voice & visual style.
  • My repsonsibility was to re-design new customer's Account Confirmation emails (including co-branded partner's accounts for Costco)
  • Account Confirmation Email Goals:
    • Welcome new customers & establish brand credibility
    • Onboard new customers, introduce product offerings and encourage app download
    • Drive first purchase with Free Shipping, No Minimum
    • Provide customer support contact details
